POSITION: IT NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

BASIC FUNCTION AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Performs responsible work in the coordination and operation of the City’s communication and information technology systems. The incumbent will plan, develop, analyze, maintain, and support systems and servers. Duties ensure optimum system integrity, security and performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Responsible for first level server, workstation and network device support. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, root cause analysis, preventive maintenance, maintaining inventory, replacing hard drives and other related tasks.
  • Monitors systems performance by collecting and analyzing data using a variety of tools. Recommends and/or implements tuning measures to optimize performance when needed. Works effectively with co-workers and vendors to isolate and resolve system problems. Monitors server backups daily for trends, missing files/folders or any discrepancies and works to resolve any problems.
  • Participates in designing, implementing, analyzing, modifying and maintaining IT data centers, network, servers and other components.
  • Provides end-user support and educates employees in the successful operation of system-wide technologies.
  • Supports the Director with training sessions for city personnel in the use of computer systems and peripheral equipment, software and programs.
  • Tests and installs software updates on servers and workstations.
  • Maintains hardware and software inventory control.
  • Participates in the support of the City’s informational functions; including website, social networking sites and TV channel.
  • Secures networks by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Processing, Information Systems or related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible computer experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Certifications such as Comp TIA A+, Network+, MCP, Microsoft MCSA or MCSE, CCNA are highly desirable. Direct experience with MS Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server is required. Ability to successfully acquire CGCIO certification within five (5) years of hire.

    DEPARTMENT: PARKS & RECREATION
    COMPENSATION RATE: $7.25 hourly
    HOURS: 2:00PM-6:00PM Monday-Friday
    DESCRIPTION:

      • NOW HIRING! Creekside Park is recruiting for a motivated individual who loves to work with children to be a counselor for our After School Program. Counselor’s engage in play with the children, so this is a very active position. Hours are 2pm – 6pm Monday – Friday, paying $7.25/hr. To apply, complete a City of Archdale application.
