“A Week for Archdale”

Posted by on Sep 10, 2019 in Community, General | No Comments

Archdale City Council has dubbed the week of September 14-21, 2019 as “A Week For Archdale”. So, what exactly does that mean? This is a week for citizens to take advantage of special programs, events, and entertainment options around the City. And it is an opportunity for residents and the business community to show their Archdale pride.

Kicking off the festivities is the Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Annual Bush Hill Festival on Saturday September 14th. The City of Archdale’s End of Summer Bash concert will close out the week the following Saturday. In between there will be numerous events for the community including the Fall Litter Sweep, shredding and e-recycle events, exercise programs at Creekside Park, and more. Throughout the week, citizens will be able to dispose of household items and/or get free mulch at the city yard on Old School Road as part of the Fall Cleanup.

While this inaugural event is part of the City’s ongoing 50th Anniversary celebration, A Week For Archdale will develop into an annual fall occurrence moving forward. City officials hope that it becomes a traditional opportunity for citizens to show pride in their City while enjoying fun and fellowship with other members of the community.
