Tips on Avoiding Fraud & Telephone Scams

  • Do NOT provide your bank account information or other personal identifying information, like your social security number, over the phone.
  • Your bank will not call you and request that you take money out in the event  your account is comprised.  If you think there is an issue with your account, go in person to your local branch.
  • If the scammer is attempting to convince you that someone at the bank is involved in the compromise, come to the police department, we can assist you with verifying this allegation.
  • Do NOT provide cash to someone you do not know and ask for identification of people you meet in a business capacity ( like an ID badge).
  • Do NOT purchase gift cards as payment for debt or business expense.
  • If someone is requesting to meet you to obtain cash or personal information and they are not willing to meet you at the Police Department or other Law Enforcement facility,  that could be an indication that are attempting to defraud or deceive you.
  • The Archdale Police Department is open 24/7 and can help answer questions or provide guidance if you think someone is attempting to influence you into providing money.
