  • Halloween Carnival  (October 25,  2014)
  • Hands Only CPR and AED Training – Free – November 1, 2014 – 9:00-12:00 noon.

For many years, the Archdale Parks and Recreation Center has provided free exercise classes for senior adults. They have also provided many strong and well attended youth programs in the community. For the past three years, Angelina Drews, an RN with High Point Regional Hospital has taught an exercise class on Saturday mornings at the Recreation Center. At her request, Cheryl Allison and Jessica Wilburn, both RNs facilitated and secured a grant from the NC RACE CARS Heart Rescue Project at Duke University to place two AEDs (Automated External Defibrillator) at the Recreation Center. In addition to providing the AEDs, the grant also provides community CPR and AED use instruction.  A community event will be held on November 1, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Recreation Center which will provide free instruction for hands only CPR and AED use.  Recreation Center staff have been trained and certified in both CPR and AED use.
